Notifications in the driver app

The driver app keeps you informed in two ways: notifications from RushHour, sent when something changes for you, and reminders and alerts that the app creates on your phone while you work. Both appear on your phone and in the app's notifications list.

The first time you use the app, allow notifications when your phone asks. If you said no, turn them on for the RushHour app in your phone's settings.

What you are notified about

From RushHour, for example when:

  • a new route is assigned to you, or one of your routes changes;
  • you get a new message, or someone adds you to a group chat;
  • your company responds to an issue you reported or changes its status;
  • you are close to an hours-of-service limit;
  • your company disables your account or turns it back on.

Reminders and alerts from the app, for example:

  • Pre-Trip Inspection Required when you haven't inspected your vehicle yet;
  • Approaching a pickup or delivery, when you are near your next stop;
  • Running Late, when you are behind schedule for a stop;
  • Cash Collection Required, when you need to collect payment at your next stop;
  • Break Required Soon and Drive Limit Approaching, for hours of service.

Read your notifications

Tap the bell at the top of the screen. A dot on the bell means you have unread notifications.

  • Switch between All and Unread.
  • Tap a notification to mark it as read.
  • Swipe a notification to mark it Read or to Archive it. Archived notifications are removed from your list.

When there is nothing new, the list shows You're all caught up.

Choose your reminders and alerts

Open Notification Settings from the settings button on the notifications screen, or from Settings → Notifications.

SettingWhat it does
General notificationsTurns all of the app's own reminders and alerts on or off.
Sound and VibrateWhether the app's notifications play a sound or vibrate. On iPhone, sound and vibration follow your phone's settings.
New ordersAlerts about your stops, such as approaching a stop or running late.
Payment requestsReminders to collect a payment at a stop.

Inspection and hours-of-service reminders are always on while General notifications is on.

The other switches on this screen don't change anything yet.

These choices are saved on this phone only, and they apply to the app's own reminders and alerts. They don't stop notifications from RushHour — to stop those, turn off notifications for the RushHour app in your phone's settings.

If you aren't receiving notifications, see Troubleshooting.
