Completing a pickup or delivery

Once you have arrived at a stop and started it from the stop details screen, the app guides you through the stop one step at a time. The screen is titled Confirm Order Details, shows which step you are on out of how many, and asks one question per step.

The steps you see depend on the kind of stop, the freight, and what your company asks for. Your company can turn some steps off, make photos and signatures optional or required, and choose whether scanning and counting are used.

Moving through the steps

  • Select Next to go to the next step and Back to return to the previous one.
  • The last step has Submit, which completes the stop.
  • Next stays unavailable until the current step is done — for example until every item is confirmed.
  • To leave, select the close button at the top. Choose Save & exit to finish later, or Discard to throw away what you entered for this stop.

Your progress is saved on your phone as you go. If you leave the stop or the app closes, the app offers to pick up where you left off: when Resume stop? appears, select Resume to continue from the same step, or Discard to start again.

Photos, signatures and scanned paperwork upload as you capture them, and Submit needs a connection. If your signal drops, the app keeps what you have done so far: retry failed uploads and submit the stop once you are back online. Barcode scans are the exception — they are kept and sent automatically later.

The steps at a pickup

StepWhat you do
Confirm the items to loadReview each group of items your office planned and confirm each group. If your company uses item counting, you can also correct the quantity when what you are loading is different, and open a pallet to review what is on it; otherwise the quantities are shown as planned and can't be changed. If the freight has barcodes, Scan items lets you start scanning from here.

Scanning barcodes

  1. Select Open scanner and point the camera at the barcode. The app confirms each read, for example Matched to this stop or Already scanned.
  2. If a barcode won't scan and your company allows it, select Manual entry and type the barcode.
  3. Select Done when you have scanned everything.

If you can't scan at all, choose a reason under Can't scan — for example Barcode unreadable or damaged, Camera not working or No barcode on freight — to move on.

Scans you make without a signal are kept on your phone and sent automatically when you are back online; the app shows how many are waiting to sync. You can review what was scanned at a stop under Scanned Items.

Photos

The app asks for camera access the first time you take a photo. Photos upload as soon as you take them. If an upload fails, the photo shows Upload failed — tap it to try again.

A missing photo only stops you if your company blocks stop completion when requirements are missing. In that case you can't continue without at least one photo. Otherwise the app warns you that no photo was taken and lets you move on.

Your company can also leave the photo step out of pickups, deliveries or both.

Charges

The charges step lists the extra charges your company has set up for this stop, such as waiting time. Tick every charge that applies. Where a charge allows it, you can enter the price and add a note. Charges your office already added to the stop are ticked for you.

The charges step only appears if your company lets drivers record charges.

Paperwork

  1. Answer Yes, there is paperwork to scan or No paperwork at this stop.
  2. If you have paperwork, add its pages with the camera or from your gallery, then save them as a document. Add more documents if you need to.

You must answer the question before you can continue, and if you choose Yes, scan at least one document.

Signatures

Hand your phone to the customer to sign on the screen, then type the customer's name below the signature. If they need to sign again, clear the signature and repeat.

A missing signature only stops you if your company blocks stop completion when requirements are missing. In that case you can't continue until both the signature and the name are filled in. Otherwise the app warns that the stop isn't signed yet and lets you move on.

Your company can also leave the signature step out of pickups, deliveries or both.

Collecting payment

When the customer owes a freight payment at the stop, the app shows how much to collect and from whom.

  • Take a photo of the check — if the customer pays by check, photograph the front and back as proof of collection.
  • Choose a payment method (pickups) — select Cash, check the Payment amount (the outstanding amount is filled in), and select Accept cash. After recording a payment you can add proof photos of the payer or the payment. If the customer pays part of the amount, the app shows Partially paid and the remaining balance.

Only Cash can be recorded in the app today. Card, ACH / Bank transfer, Send invoice and PDF receipt are shown but not available yet.

If you move on while money is still outstanding, the app asks you to confirm that you are continuing without collecting it.

After you submit

When the stop is submitted, the app confirms the task is complete and offers the next thing to do — for example Go to Next Stop, Go to Transfer when your next stop is a transfer to another route, or Back to Map. When you have finished every stop on the route, it shows Route complete! with a button to review your end of day — see Close out your day.

Your office sees the completed stop straight away. The photos, signature and paperwork you captured are attached to the order.

If submitting fails, your progress is kept — select Retry, or contact dispatch if it keeps failing.
