Messages in the driver app
The Message tab is where you talk to your office and to other drivers you work with. Messages arrive as they are sent, and you get a notification when a new message comes in while you are elsewhere.
Your chats
The Chats list always starts with your chat with the Office — your direct line to your company's dispatchers. Then come:
- Route chats — a chat for each of your current routes, named after the route number (for example Route #1234) and listed in route-number order, for anything about that route. A new route's chat can show Route conversation pending until it is ready; you can't open it until then.
- Your other chats — conversations about a specific order, and group chats you started or were added to, with the most recently active first.
Use Search chats at the top to find a chat by name.
Send a message
- Open a chat.
- Type in the Message box and select send.
- To send a photo, use the photo button next to the message box, then Take a photo or Choose from library. You can add a caption or send the photo on its own.
If a message can't be sent — for example because you have no signal — it is marked Message not sent. Tap it to try again. If the app isn't sure whether a message already went through, it asks before sending it again, so the other person doesn't get it twice.
Start a group chat
You can start a group with drivers you share an active route or order with.
- On the Chats list, select the new group button.
- On New Group, choose the drivers to add.
- Select Next, enter a Group name, and select Create group.
The drivers you add get a notification, and the group appears in everyone's chat list. If no one is offered, you don't currently share an active route or order with another driver.
