Price an order
The price of a quote or order is shown in the left panel of the order workspace, under Shipping Price. Next to the heading, a badge shows whether the order is invoiced and paid: Not Invoiced, Unpaid, Overdue, Partial Paid or Paid.
Your company's pricing is set up in Settings (for example Pricing Models, Pricing Zones, Shipment Types and Charge Types). This page explains how you apply that setup to a single order.
Choose how the price is calculated
Under the price, choose one of three options. They become available once the quote or order has been saved.
| Option | How the price is set |
|---|---|
| Classic | RushHour calculates the price from your company's standard pricing setup. |
| Pricing Model | RushHour calculates the price from your pallet pricing model. Available only when the order is made up of pallets. |
| Custom | You type the price yourself. |
Switching option recalculates the price. To recalculate after changing stops or items, open the ⋮ menu in the header and choose Calculate.
See how a Classic price was built
When Classic is selected, select the details icon next to Total Cost to see the price breakdown: each cost line with its quantity and price, the subtotal, any markup or discount, and the total.
Set a custom price
- Open the quote or order in edit mode.
- Select Custom.
- Type the price and save.
On quotes, anyone who can edit the quote can set a custom price. On orders, only a Company Admin can type a custom price; other users see the order's price but can't change it.
Currency
If your company works in more than one currency, you can choose the currency of a quote in the Currency field under the price. The order keeps that currency.
Freight mode
While editing, you can set the Freight mode to Ground, Ocean or Air. The default, Not stated, doesn't restrict which of your international rates can apply. Set a mode when the shipment really travels that way, so only rates for that mode are used.
When a price can't be calculated
The price panel tells you when RushHour could not calculate a price, so a missing price is never mistaken for a real one:
- Price could not be calculated — no rate matched this customer, distance or number of pallets, or pricing was unavailable. The reason is shown underneath when it is known.
- International pricing could not price this order — an international rate matched the lane but could not produce a price, for example because the quantity is outside the rate's bands, the rate has expired, or the rate needs a quote on request. The reason is shown underneath.
Fix the order or your pricing setup, or set a Custom price.
AI price suggestion
Once a quote or order has a pickup and a delivery address, you can ask for a suggested price:
- Select AI price suggestion under the price options.
- RushHour shows a Suggested price with its confidence level, a price Range, and what the suggestion is based on — for example your rates or your history on the lane. If there isn't enough information yet, it says so.
- To use it, open the quote or order in edit mode and select Apply. The price option switches to Custom and the suggested price is filled in. Save to keep it.
The suggestion is only a guide. Nothing changes until you apply and save it.
Additional charges
Extra charges for a stop, such as accessorial charges, are added from the stop's ⋮ menu with Additional Charges, where that option is available. Charges can also be added when a stop is confirmed on the Dispatch board. See Pickups and deliveries.
