Carriers

Not every load is driven by your own drivers. When you hand work to another trucking company — a carrier, subcontractor or owner-operator — you keep a record of that company in RushHour. In the Company Portal these companies are called outsource companies and live under Outsource in the sidebar.

A carrier is the opposite of a customer: customers pay you, while you pay carriers for the work they do for you.

How carriers fit in

  1. You add the carrier under Outsource, with its address, emails, contact person, the types of trucks it runs and how you pay it. See Add and manage carriers.
  2. You add the carrier's drivers under Drivers, linking each one to the carrier. They appear on the carrier's Drivers tab and can be invited to the driver app like your own drivers.
  3. Dispatch assigns routes to those drivers, choosing Outsource Driver when creating or editing a route. See Give routes to carrier drivers.
  4. Carrier drivers complete the stops in the driver app, the same way your own drivers do.

The Outsource list

Select Outsource in the sidebar. Each row shows the carrier's ID, name, contact first and last name, phone, email, address and rating. Click a phone number, email or address to copy it, and select a row to open the carrier in its own tab.

Use the filter button to narrow the list by country, state, city, or zip or postcode. From the row's menu you can Edit or Delete a carrier; to delete several at once, select them and use the delete button above the list.
