Manage drivers

Select Drivers in the sidebar to see every driver your company works with — your own drivers and the drivers of outside carriers.

The driver list

Each row shows the driver's photo, ID, name, phone, status, rating and company. The chat button opens a conversation with the driver.

Select the filter button above the list to narrow it down:

FilterWhat it does
CountryShows drivers from one country.
StatusShows drivers with the statuses you pick.
Company TypeInternal for your own drivers, Outsource for drivers who work for a carrier.
Sort byNewest to oldest, or oldest to newest.
Deleted DriversShows deleted drivers instead of current ones.

Select a row to open the driver in its own tab.

Driver statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftA record you are still preparing.
NewA record that is ready but hasn't been invited to the driver app.
InvitedAn invitation to the driver app has been sent and the driver hasn't registered yet.
ActiveThe driver is working with you. A driver becomes Active when they register in the driver app with their invite code, or straight away if you add them without sending an invitation.
InactiveThe driver isn't currently working with you.
DisabledThe driver can't sign in to the driver app.
DeletedThe driver was deleted. An Admin can restore the driver within 30 days; after that, their personal details are erased. See Delete, restore and permanently remove drivers.

Change a driver's status

Open the ⋮ menu on a driver's row. The options depend on the driver's current status:

ActionAvailable when the driver is
NewDraft
InviteDraft or New — see Driver app invitations and sign-in
Send InviteInvited, Inactive or Active — sends a new invitation email and sets the status to Invited
InactiveDraft, New or Invited
ActiveAny status other than Active or Deleted
DisableActive

You can't make a driver Inactive, disable them or delete them while they have an active route.

To change several drivers at once, select them in the list and open the gear menu. Disable is offered when all selected drivers are Active; Reactivate and Bulk Delete are offered when all selected drivers are Disabled.

Add a driver

  1. In the driver list, select Add Driver.
  2. Fill in the form and select Save.

Inside a driver record

The top of a driver record shows when the driver was added, their status, photo, star rating, phone and email buttons, Message Driver, the driver's license type, and counts of their orders and late deliveries.

TabWhat you find there

Driver's LicenseLicense details and images, plus Documents Management for uploading, previewing and deleting the driver's license, insurance card and registration card files.

Sensitive details

A driver's Social Security number, date of birth, license number and expiry, license image and home address are shown only to users with the Drivers settings - view details permission. Other users see these fields empty.

Delete, restore and permanently remove drivers

These actions are in the ⋮ menu on a driver's row and are offered to Admins.

  • Delete moves the driver to the deleted list. A deleted driver can't sign in to the driver app.
  • To bring a driver back, turn on Deleted Drivers and select Reactivate on the row.
  • Terminate permanently removes a deleted driver, but only one who never had any routes, chats, invoices or payouts — for example a record added by mistake. A driver with any of that history can't be permanently removed; RushHour shows an error instead.
Deleted drivers are erased after 30 days

Deleting a driver starts a 30-day waiting period. Once it has passed, RushHour permanently erases the driver's personal details: their name (the record is then shown as "Deleted Driver"), email, phone numbers, Social Security number, date of birth, home address, license details, photo and uploaded license, insurance and registration documents, their location history, and their driver app login. Photos, signatures and comments on their vehicle inspections are removed as well.

The record itself stays, so the routes, orders, payouts and inspection results linked to the driver are kept, together with the proof-of-delivery photos and paperwork on your orders.

Only a Reactivate within the 30 days restores the driver as they were and cancels the erasure. Reactivating an erased driver brings back an empty record without a login — to work with that person again, add them as a new driver and send a new invitation.

The same applies when drivers delete their own account in the driver app.

Coming soon

A company setting that decides whether drivers deleted by your team are erased at all. By default, a driver your team deletes will be kept and can be restored at any time, while a driver's own request to delete their account will still be honoured after the waiting period.
