Driver app invitations and sign-in
Drivers use the RushHour driver app to see their routes and complete their stops. Before a driver can sign in, they create their driver app account with an invite code from your company. The code ties the account to the driver record you created, so their work shows up against the right driver.
How a driver gets connected
- You add the driver in the Company Portal with their email address.
- You send an invitation. The driver's status becomes Invited.
- The driver receives an email titled "Invitation to register with" followed by your company name. It contains their invite code and a link that opens a page showing the code, with a button to open the driver app.
- In the driver app, the driver enters the invite code, completes registration and chooses a password.
- The driver's status changes to Active, and they can sign in to the app from then on.
Send an invitation
You can invite a driver at any of these points:
- When you add the driver — tick Send driver an invitation on the new driver form.
- From the driver list — for a driver with the status Draft or New, open the ⋮ menu and select Invite. Tick Send an email to the driver to email the invitation; if you leave it unticked, the status changes to Invited without an email being sent.
- From the driver record — select Send Invite on the Personal Information tab.
Sending invitations requires the Create/Edit Drivers permission.
Resend an invitation
If the driver lost the email or it went to their spam folder, open the ⋮ menu on their row and select Send Invite, or use Send Invite on their record.
Each new invitation contains a new invite code and replaces the earlier one. Ask the driver to use the code from their most recent email — an older code no longer works.
Sending an invitation always sets the driver's status to Invited, even if the driver was Active or Inactive before. Resend invitations only to drivers who haven't registered in the driver app yet; for a driver who has registered but can't sign in, use the password options below instead.
Help a driver who can't sign in
Once a driver has registered in the driver app, Admins can help with their password from the ⋮ menu on the driver's row:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Set Password | You choose a new password for the driver and give it to them. |
| Reset Password | Emails the driver a link to choose a new password themselves. |
These actions are unavailable while the driver hasn't registered in the driver app yet, or while the driver is Disabled.
A driver who is Disabled or Deleted can't sign in to the driver app. To let a Disabled driver back in, make them Active again — see Manage drivers.
A Deleted driver can be brought back with Reactivate only within 30 days of being deleted. After that, their personal details and their driver app login are erased for good, so add them as a new driver and send a new invitation instead — see Delete, restore and permanently remove drivers.
