Trucks and inspection logs
Your trucks are listed under Settings → Fleet. Dispatch uses this list when a truck is chosen for a route.
The fleet list
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Truck ID | RushHour's number for the truck. |
| Truck Name | The name your team uses for the truck. |
| Current Location, Vehicle Name, VIN | Columns for the Samsara vehicle the truck is linked to. They are empty whenever no details for that vehicle are available. |
| LIC Plate Number | The license plate. |
| Ins Cost | The monthly insurance cost you entered. |
| Status | On for an active truck, Off otherwise. |
Add or edit a truck
Trucks are added by linking them to a vehicle in your Samsara account, so connect Samsara under Settings → Integrations first.
- Go to Settings → Fleet and select Add Fleet. To change a truck, select its row or choose Edit from its ⋮ menu.
- In Truck Type, choose the Samsara vehicle this truck represents. The list shows the vehicles in your Samsara account, and the VIN is filled in from the vehicle you choose.
- Enter the Truck Name and License Plate Number. Both are required.
- Optionally enter the Insurance Price (per month).
- Select Save.
A truck can't be saved without a vehicle selected in Truck Type. If your company doesn't use Samsara, the list of vehicles is empty and new trucks can't be added from this screen.
Delete a truck
- Open the truck's ⋮ menu and select Delete, then confirm.
- RushHour asks whether you'd like to keep the expenses already recorded for this truck. Choose Yes to keep them, or No to remove them together with the truck. Closing this question without choosing counts as No.
Truck inspection logs
Drivers can be asked to inspect their vehicle in the driver app at the start and end of their shift — see Driver app settings. To review what they submitted, go to Settings → Fleet and select Truck Inspection Logs.
Each log shows:
- whether it is a start-of-shift or end-of-shift inspection, with the inspection number;
- the route number and the truck's ID, plate and VIN;
- each check with its result and any comment the driver added;
- photos the driver attached;
- the driver's notes;
- the driver's signature, with who signed and when.
Inspection logs are read-only. They are available to users with the Admin role.
