Items

Items describe what the order moves: how many, what kind of packaging, how big and how heavy. You add items to a pickup, and then say which delivery each item goes to.

Items also matter for pricing. For example, the Pricing Model price option is only available for orders made up of pallets. See Price an order.

Add an item

  1. Open the quote or order on the Order Details tab. For an existing order, select Edit first.
  2. On a pickup, select Add Item. (When you save a new pickup with Save and add item, the item form opens straight away.)
  3. Choose the item type and fill in the details (see below).
  4. If the order already has deliveries, choose which delivery receives the item (see Send items to deliveries).
  5. Select Save Handling Unit.

To remove an item, select Delete on it and confirm.

Item details

Most item types share these fields:

  • Item Name and Quantity of Items.
  • A description of the goods.
  • Size — length, width and height with a unit for boxes, crates, bags and other goods. For pallets, choose a pallet size instead: Standard, Small or Large.
  • Weight and its unit.
  • Handling flags: Fragile, Hazardous, Refrigerated, Overweight and Other. These also show on the unassigned stop cards on the Dispatch board.
  • Special Instructions for this item.
  • Attachments, once the item has been saved.

Full Load

For a Full Load, describe the truck instead of individual packages:

  • Truck Type — a 53' tractor trailer, a 26' box truck or a sprinter van.
  • Items Packed In — boxes and crates, boxes, or pallets. When packed on pallets, also choose the pallet size.
  • Total Weight, the weight per item, and the Quantity of Trucks.

Send items to deliveries

Every item collected at a pickup should end up at a delivery. While part of an item's quantity hasn't been sent to a delivery yet, the item on the pickup shows a small badge with the unallocated quantity; hover it to see Unallocated Qty. Once the order's stops are on a route, the stop also shows an Allocate Items warning until the items are allocated.

When you edit an item on a pickup and the order has deliveries:

  1. Choose a quantity and the delivery it goes to under Select Delivery.
  2. To split the item across several deliveries, select + and add another quantity and delivery. You can keep adding rows until the whole quantity is allocated.
  3. To take a quantity off a delivery, select the delete icon on that row.
  4. Save the item.

Deliveries show the items they receive. On a delivery with no items yet, select Drop Items Here to allocate items to it.

See all items at once

The Package Details tab lists every item on the order in one table: quantity, item name, package type, the pickup and delivery the item travels between, dimensions, weight and attachments.
