Quotes and orders
Every shipment you handle in RushHour starts as a quote or an order. Both are the same kind of record: a customer, one or more pickups and deliveries, the items being moved, and a price. What changes as the work progresses is its status.
- A quote is a priced offer you prepare for a customer. You can email it, adjust it, and approve it once the customer accepts.
- An order is confirmed work. You assign its stops to drivers on the Dispatch board, follow it while it is on the road, and close and invoice it when it is done.
You find them in two places in the left menu:
| Menu item | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Quotes | Drafts and quotes. |
| Orders | Orders and closed orders. |
From quote to closed order
A typical shipment moves through these steps:
- Draft — you start a new quote and fill it in. A draft is saved but not yet a finished quote.
- Quote — you save the draft as a quote, price it, and email it to the customer.
- Order — the customer accepts and you approve the quote. It now appears under Orders. You can also create an order directly, without a quote.
- Dispatched and on route — you assign the pickups and deliveries to drivers' routes. The order's trip status follows the driver's progress.
- Closed — the goods are delivered, and you close the order and create or update its invoice.
See Statuses and lifecycle for every status and what you can do in each one.
