Proof of delivery
Proof of delivery is what shows that freight was handed over: a signature from the person receiving it, photos of the goods, and the signed paperwork. In RushHour the driver captures this in the driver app while completing the stop, and your team finds it on the order afterwards.
Decide what drivers must capture
Your company chooses what the driver app asks for under Settings → Driver App — see Driver app settings.
| Setting | Where | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Require signature on delivery | Features tab | Deliveries include a step where the recipient signs on the driver's phone. When it's off, there is no signature step at deliveries. On by default. |
| Require photos on delivery | Features tab | Deliveries include a step where the driver photographs the goods. When it's off, there is no goods photo step at deliveries. On by default. |
| Block stop completion when requirements are missing | Features tab | When on, drivers can't move past the goods photo or signature step without capturing it. When off, the app warns them but lets them continue. Off by default. |
| Paperwork scanning | Features tab | Whether drivers are asked to scan bills of lading and other paperwork with the phone camera at a stop. On by default. |
| Drop Off prompts | Flow tab | Switch off photographing the goods or the on-phone signature to leave those steps out of deliveries. The signing prompt doesn't affect paperwork scanning. |
These settings apply in the current driver app on Android and iPhone.
Find photos and paperwork on the order
Files uploaded by the driver app at a stop — for example photos of the goods — are attached to the order. To see them:
- Open the order.
- Select the Attachments tab.
- Under Paperwork, preview or download each file.
The same list includes files your team attached to the order, its stops and its items. Use Attach file to add your own, such as a signed paper bill of lading you received by email.
Share delivery paperwork with the customer
To send shipping paperwork to a customer, open the order's bill of lading and email it from the viewer — see Business documents.
- A Proof of Delivery document for each order, built from what the driver captured — arrival and departure times, the recipient's signature, delivery photos, and what was delivered compared with what was planned — which your team can preview, print, download or email from the order and route menus.
- An option to email the proof of delivery to the customer automatically when the driver completes the delivery.
