Samsara
Samsara is a fleet telematics service: devices in your trucks report where each vehicle is. Connecting Samsara lets RushHour use that information while your team dispatches.
What it enables

What you need
- A Samsara account with vehicles reporting their location.
- A Samsara API token created in your Samsara dashboard. Give it read access to vehicles, vehicle locations and Hours of Service. If you want the AI assistant to be able to update vehicle details, it also needs write access to vehicles.
- The Company Admin role in RushHour.
Connect Samsara
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Samsara row.
- Select Install.
- Paste your token into API Token. Use the eye icon to check what you pasted.
- Select Save.
The row now shows View. To replace the token later, select View, type the new token over the masked one and save.
Link your trucks
Truck positions only appear for trucks that are linked to a Samsara vehicle.
- Go to Settings → Fleet.
- Select Add Fleet, or edit an existing truck.
- In Truck Type, choose the Samsara vehicle this truck is. The list shows the vehicles in your Samsara account, and the VIN is filled in for you.
- Complete the rest of the truck and select Save.
When a route is assigned that truck, the route's position on the Dispatch board comes from that Samsara vehicle.
What is shared, and when
- RushHour reads from Samsara live. Vehicle lists and positions are fetched from Samsara when a page needs them. RushHour doesn't import or keep a history of your Samsara data.
- Positions are refreshed about every two minutes. A position shown in RushHour can be up to a couple of minutes old. On the Dispatch board, truck positions update on their own.
- RushHour doesn't change anything in Samsara, except a vehicle change you confirm through the AI assistant.
Disconnect Samsara
There is no button to remove the Samsara integration from RushHour. To stop RushHour reading your fleet, revoke the API token in your Samsara dashboard. From then on, truck positions disappear from RushHour's maps and the Samsara columns in Settings → Fleet stay empty.
To switch to a different Samsara account, select View on the Samsara row and save a token from the new account. Trucks linked to vehicles in the old account need to be linked again.
Common issues
No trucks on the map, and the Fleet columns are empty. RushHour couldn't get data from Samsara. Samsara problems show up as empty fields rather than an error message. Check that the token was pasted in full, hasn't been revoked in Samsara, and has read access to vehicles and their locations.
One truck is missing from the map. Check that the truck is linked to the right vehicle in Truck Type, and that the vehicle is currently reporting a location in Samsara.
No vehicles to choose in Truck Type. Samsara isn't connected, the token can't read vehicles, or Samsara couldn't be reached. Because a vehicle must be chosen, trucks can't be added from Settings → Fleet until this is fixed.
The AI assistant says the Samsara key was rejected. Samsara refused the token. Save a valid token under View.
