Telegram
With the Telegram integration, the stop and route details you prepare with Copy to Driver are also sent to the driver as Telegram messages. Drivers get the details on their phone even if they aren't using the RushHour driver app at that moment.
How it works
RushHour signs in to Telegram with a phone number your company chooses — usually a dispatch or company phone. Messages to drivers are then sent from that Telegram account, so choose a number whose Telegram account your drivers will recognise.
What you need
- A Telegram account on the phone number you want messages to come from, with the Telegram app open on a device so you can receive the sign-in code.
- The Intergrations permission in RushHour (spelled this way on the Roles page) to sign in.
- Each driver's Telegram User ID.
Connect Telegram
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Telegram row.
- Select Install.
- Enter the Admin Telegram Phone Number, including the country code, and select Send Code.
- Telegram sends a login code to that account. Enter it in Telegram Code and select Sign In.
- RushHour confirms with Success.
The Telegram row keeps showing Install after you sign in — it doesn't display a connected status. The quickest check is to send a stop to a driver (see below).
Add drivers' Telegram User IDs
RushHour needs to know which Telegram account belongs to each driver.
- Open the driver's record and select the Settings tab.
- Enter the driver's Telegram User ID and save.
See Managing drivers.
Send details to a driver
- Choose a copy action — Copy to Driver on an order or stop, Copy Stop for Driver, or Copy Route for Driver on the Dispatch board.
- Review the message and select Copy to Driver.
RushHour copies the message to your clipboard and, if the driver has a Telegram User ID, sends it to the driver in Telegram and confirms that the messages were sent. The message goes to the driver of the route — for an order, the driver of the order's first route. For a route, the Telegram message covers the whole route. See Copy to Driver.
Sending through Telegram needs the Copy/Send Route/Stop permission.
Disconnect Telegram
There is no disconnect button in RushHour. To stop messages being sent from your Telegram account, end RushHour's session in Telegram: in the Telegram app, open the list of devices or active sessions signed in to your account and terminate the one RushHour uses.
To stop sending to one driver only, remove the Telegram User ID from that driver's Settings tab. Copy to Driver still copies the message to your clipboard.
Common issues
"Missing driver's telegram user id". The route's driver has no Telegram User ID. The message was still copied to your clipboard; add the ID to the driver's Settings tab to send it in Telegram next time.
"Error sending to driver". Telegram didn't accept the message. Check that the driver's Telegram User ID is correct, and that the Telegram account RushHour signed in with is still signed in. If you ended that session, sign in again from Settings → Integrations.
The login code never arrives. Check the phone number and country code, then look for the code in the Telegram app on a device already signed in to that account.
The message isn't sent for an order that isn't on a route yet. Telegram messages go to the driver of a route, so assign the order's stops to a route with a driver first.
