Customer pricing and charges

Two tabs on a customer record let you price that customer differently from everyone else: Pricing Model and Additional Charges. Both start from your company-wide setup and only change for the customer once you edit them.

Pricing Model tab

The Pricing Model tab shows the pricing grid used for this customer: prices by number of pallets across mileage ranges. Until you change anything, the tab shows your company's default pricing model.

When an order for this customer is priced with the Pricing Model option, RushHour uses this customer's grid if they have one, and your company default otherwise.

Set customer-specific prices

  1. Open the customer and select the Pricing Model tab.
  2. Select a cell and enter a custom price, or set a custom per-pallet discount.
  3. Select Save.

Saving creates a pricing model that belongs to this customer only; your company default is not changed. A custom cell can be reverted to the calculated price with the small close button on that cell.

Other actions on the tab

ActionWhat it does
Generate from Previous InvoicesFills the grid from prices on this customer's earlier invoices. Review the result, then select Save to keep it.
Add Mileage ChargeAdds a mileage range to the grid.
Revert to DefaultResets the grid back to the default values.
Delete Customer Pricing ModelRemoves the customer's own pricing model, so the company default applies again.

Company-wide pricing models, pricing zones and international rate cards are set up under Settings.

Additional Charges tab

Additional Charges are the extra fees you bill on top of the freight price — for example liftgate, waiting time or extra labour. Your company-wide list lives under Settings → Charge Types. The Additional Charges tab gives a customer their own copy of that list, so you can adjust names and prices for them.

The first time someone with permission to edit the customer opens the tab, the customer's list is filled from your company charge types.

Change or add a charge for one customer

  1. Open the customer and select the Additional Charges tab.
  2. Select a charge to edit it, or select Add Charge Type to create a new one for this customer.
  3. Set the name and Price per unit, choose whether the amount is entered by hand (Enter Amount?) and whether the price may be changed on an invoice (Overridable Price?), and save.

To remove charges, select them and use Delete from the actions menu, or delete a single charge from its row. Built-in system charges can't be deleted.

How the customer's list is used

When you add a fee to an invoice, the fee type list offers the charges of the customers on the order's stops, and their customer-specific prices take priority. If none of those customers has a list of their own yet, the company-wide charge types are offered instead.

Permissions

Viewing these tabs requires permission to view the customer. Changing the additional charges requires Edit customers from own account or Edit customers from other accounts, depending on who created the customer.
